The Sports Studies course have specifically been designed to meet the needs of the ever changing environment within this sector of the industry. Consequently we are excited to offer a range of pathways to enable you to succeed at a variety of levels. The single level is focused around the sports industry whilst the double and triple levels are focused around the sports coaching and exercise sectors of the industry
The units have been designed by specialists in the field who are keen to improve students’ ability to work well in teams, coach, communicate and research areas of interest. The variety of topic areas will test both the physical and mental capabilities of the student. Successful completion of the courses will lead naturally into sports science, physiotherapy and other health related degrees in higher education progressing into apprenticeships or being offered sports specific scholarships.

Entry requirements: Blue pathway
Single: 4 units of which 3 are mandatory and 2 are external. Mandatory content (83%). External assessment (67%). 2 units contain written exams/set tasks and there are 2 coursework units.
Double: 9 units of which 6 are mandatory and 3 are external. Mandatory content (75%). External assessment (45%). 3 units contain written exams/set tasks and there are 6 coursework units.
Triple: 14 units of which 10 are mandatory and 4 are external. Mandatory content (78%). External assessment (42%). 4 units contain written exams/set tasks and there are 10 coursework units.
Progression Route: University, apprenticeship or employment in sport, exercise or fitness.
